About Us

In March 2020, schools were ordered to close at the direction of Governor Tom Wolf in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Our school enacted a Continuity of Education plan at that time. The plan can be found under the "Our Programs" page on this site. Currently, our school leadership is developing several operational plans, as well as health/safety plans for our upcoming school year (2020-2021). The plans under consideration include remote learning plans, hybrid learning plans (partial return/partial online), and full attendance plans. The decision on which plan to use will be communicated to our school community when it is finalized.

In an effort to continue to reduce transmission of COVID-19, Philadelphia E&T will be holding all Summer Programs virtually for the Summer of 2020. This includes 21st Century Community Learning Center Summer Enrichment Program & Credit Recovery as well as our Extended School Year Programs and Student Services Programs.

Specific information regarding School Programs during COVID-19 Restrictions can be found on our COVID-19 Information Hub. The link for access can be found HERE:

Founded in 2002 by International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local Union 98. Philadelphia Electrical & Technology Charter High School offers a comprehensive high school experience for 600 students. Our school is located in the middle of Center City Philadelphia, a block away from City Hall. Our center city location allows students from all over Philadelphia to attend our school. Our goal is to prepare our students to enter the career fields of their choice in a variety of ways, either through pursuit of apprenticeships at IBEW Local 98, attendance at two or four year colleges, direct employment in those industries following graduation, or some combination of those paths.
