Update on Building Issues FEBRUARY 2019

s

 Thursday, February 20, 2019

Dear Parents/Guardians,

On Tuesday, 2/19/19, our team arrived to our building and found a significant amount of water on a few levels of building. The cause was identified as a large pipe having burst in a mechanical room. The water that leaked from this pipe caused some damage to the back portions of our school building. The property owner moved very quickly to begin to correct the plumbing issue and begin restoration efforts in the building.

Unfortunately, this impacted several classrooms. Due to the number of classrooms being affected, as well as having to shut down power and heat in certain areas, we needed to close this week. We hope that this will translate into easy access and quick work by the restoration team.

There are several matters that need to be addressed as it relates to this issue:

1st:      Student Transpasses for next week, the week of 2/25/19.

  • Students are able to pick up their transpass on Friday, 2/22/19 between the hours of 8:00 AM -10:30AM on the first floor of the school building. NO one will be in the building after 10:30AM. Students can not be late. Also, only the individual student or their legal parent/guardian can pick up their transpass.

2nd: We will be extending the third quarter to March 27th.

  • Progress Reports will be mailed on March 1, 2019. Please encourage your children to keep up with their class work on iTunes University and use these days as an opportunity to complete any missing assignments. The 21CCLC program and Credit Recovery will run after both sessions on the EE and FF Schedule days listed below for students to make up any assignments.

3rd:  Schedule Changes for next week.

  • We will be adjusting the school schedule for next week.
  • We will run modified E and F Schedule once in the morning and once in the afternoon (EE and FF). Please encourage your children to report to school on time to maximize their instructional time.
  • On Monday, 2/25 and Tuesday, 2/26 of next week,
    • Students in Grades 11 and 12 should report from 7:45 to 10:45AM
    • Students in Grades 9 and 10 should report from 11:30AM to 2:30PM.
